Tips on how to form a UK limited

Written by on December 05, 2011
Prices to form a UK Limited start from as little as £15

Any of the four listed types of companies needs to be registered with CompaniesHouse.

        • Private company limited by shares
        • Private company limited by guarantee
        • Private unlimited company
        • Public limited company

However, the most common form in the UK is the Private company limited by shares, also referred to as “LIMITED”.

The fastest and easiest way to form such a Limited company is to go through one of the formation agents listed on the CompaniesHouse website. A list of over 100 agents can be found here: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/toolsToHelp/formationAgents.shtml

Prices start from just £15 and companies are normally registered within 24 to 48 hours. All agents offer additional services such as mail boxes, registered offices and phone answering services which can be bought additionally.
